RESEARCH PROJECT
NEW STANDARD IN PRESSURE INJURY PREVENTION
The project seeks to apply modern artificial intelligence technologies to develop new evidence based pressure injury prevention standard.

Current global standards in pressure injury prevention are not evidence based and rely on subjective judgement. This results in high prevalence of pressure injuries, large amount of unnecessary workload for caregivers and nurses, and excessive sleep disturbances to patients.

The project is a multi-disciplinary collaboration with research teams from the Nursing Research and Practice Development Centre (NRPDC) of The Prince Charles Hospital, Data61 CSIRO and PosiSense.

The Stage 0 of the research has commenced in February 2020.  Stage 1 is expected to commence in August 2020, with Stage 2 to follow next year.

PARTICIPATION

Three aged care facilities will be recruited in Stage 1 (one year duration), with seven more facilities in Stage 2 (up to five years duration). Aged care facilities are invited to participate in the research project. To register your interest, please submit a form below.
